On October 25, 2025, LiSTie CEO Hoshino attended the STI for SDGs Award Ceremony hosted by JST (Japan Science and Technology Agency), where he received the JST President’s Award.
The “STI for SDGs” Award was established by JST in 2019 to recognize initiatives that leverage Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) to address social challenges and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The JST President’s Award, which ranks just below the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, is presented to initiatives that demonstrate outstanding use of science and technology.
LiSTie was honored for its initiative to extract ultra-high-purity lithium from sources around the world using its proprietary LiSMIC technology. This effort was highly praised for tackling a socially critical yet under-addressed issue with a world-leading, Japan-originated technological solution.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone involved in the STI for SDGs Award for recognizing LiSTie’s efforts. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated staff and all those who continue to support our activities.
Moving forward, we will strive to implement our proprietary ultra-high-purity lithium extraction technology, LiSMIC, in society. Through stable lithium supply and resource circulation, we aim to contribute to solving global energy resource challenges.
